Present Day, Present Time (Part IV)

It's taken four years of pontificating, pondering, cogitating and rumination.. Finally something worthy seems to be sat in place of all which has been before.. Welcome the resting form of Lain Dark.

After another sneaky order from Amazon, and a trip to the sorting office in exchange for a piece of card with my name on it, we finally have the physical semblance of the dream made real, courtesy of a Suptek single arm, dual monitor stand for all that efficient, space saving, ergonomically enthralling goodness!

The software installs are continuing at this point with but one possible exception. In stark contrast to anything I expected I think I am coming to terms with the idea of abandoning Adobe. Don't get me wrong - I like CS6 and get on with it well, but now I own a capable machine and having little to zero patience with the monthly subscription model even before i think it, I'm feeling the urge to look elsewhere.. towards the products of a relatively local company called Serif, based about forty or so miles south in Nottingham. The software? Affinity Photo and Affinity Designer (and some time down the line, if press is to be believed, Affinity Publisher). As befits all the best purchases, it's a £48 one time payment per package, with free upgrades for all from that point onward.. I shall talk more on this when I've finished my investigations.

As for now it's time to press on and get the software I will be using, most of which has already been installed to this point.. The only remaining major piece of software yet to make its entrance is Steam.. for all that DOOM, Final Fantasy and Overwatch goodness.. of course all this will have to follow in the fullness of time.

For right now, it's time for a glass of wine and enjoy the (almost) finished masterpiece.. Cheers!
